Saw a guy riding a unicycle down South Congress yesterday morning while successfully eating a migas taco from a foil wrapper without dropping a single tortilla chip. Absolutely top tier coordination! Good point on the heat Brian. I will definitely be supporting the vendors. Does anyone know which specific food vendors or live acts are booked for the day? The announcement mentioned independent football matches with talent from all over Texas paired with vendors and live music, but did not list the specific lineup yet.

- Anyone heading to the 2026 TXSFL Redemption Bowl & All-Star Game at Nelson Field?
Just saw that the 2026 TXSFL Redemption Bowl & All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM out at Nelson Field (7105 Berkman Drive, Austin, TX 78752). It says it is a full championship day of high-level independent football matches pulling talent from all over Texas, plus local live performances and food vendors. I am mostly going for the food vendors, but the football sounds fun too. Is anyone else planning to check it out?

But definitely aim to get there right at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 so you do not miss out on the prize giveaways.

Just saw this posted for Mueller. The Road to Lone Star Le Mans Racing Fanfest is coming to Branch Park Pavilion over at 2201 Aldrich Street, Austin, TX 78723. It is taking place on Saturday, August 15, 2026 starting at 10:00 AM. It is listed as a completely free, family-friendly interactive fan zone celebrating motorsports. They are going to have official Le Mans race car displays, live pit stop demonstrations, racing simulators, and prize giveaways.

Twelve matches making their Texas debut in one afternoon sounds wild. Does anyone know if they will have outside food vendors brought in or if it is strictly whatever Pinballz usually serves? I will gladly head over to 13729 Research Boulevard if there are good food options nearby too.

Another free one for the kids is the Road to Lone Star Le Mans Racing Fanfest on Saturday August 15th at Branch Park Pavilion. It is up in Mueller (2201 Aldrich Street), starts at 10:00 AM. Free and family friendly. They have Le Mans race car displays, racing simulators, live pit stop demonstrations, and prize giveaways. Branch Park has good space to run around too.

We get to sample hundreds of hot sauces, listen to live music, eat local food, and vote for our favorite commercial and public entries. Plus, the proceeds benefit the Central Texas Food Bank.

- Franklin vs interstellar - what is worth the line right now?
Just a heads up on the beef short rib at Interstellar. They serve it topped with chimichurri sauce. It has a thick bark, but honestly the smoke flavor was a bit light when I tried it, almost like the chimichurri was covering it up. The meat was slightly tough compared to Post Oak or Louie Mueller's. Stick to the pork spare ribs or the brisket there instead. The pork ribs have a really nice light glaze and great meat-to-fat balance.

- Franklin vs interstellar - what is worth the line right now?
Wait, since when does Interstellar take reservations? I read some online travel guide article the other day that claimed you have to book Interstellar way in advance like it is a fancy sit-down spot and smart casual dress is recommended. Is that true? Every time I go, you just walk up to the strip mall, stand in line, and order cafeteria style inside with the checkered floors and black metal chairs. Did they change things?
