Best Balayage Hair Colorist in North Austin

Need a colorist who is good at balayage, north Austin

   Last two places turned my hair brassy orange. I want a natural lived in balayage. Who is actually good at dimensional color on the north side?

   I had a good experience at Theory Hair Salon in Techridge. I brought reference photos and the colorist actually slowed down and talked through what would work with my hair instead of just nodding and mixing color. She checked in with me during the appointment, and I left with dimensional color instead of another solid brassy stripe.

   A friend recommended Shag Noir Salon to me for balayage, but they are over on East 6th Street, which is definitely not north.

   Vinyl sounds better. Always looking for Marantz gear!

   Yeah, and Austin Curls is way out in Steiner Ranch and mostly specializes in curly hair cuts and styling. Theory has a Round Rock location too if that is closer to you.

   Oh good to know! Is the Round Rock location just as good for balayage as Techridge, or should I stick to Techridge?

   I would not assume the two locations have the same stylists. Call both and ask to see the actual colorist’s recent work before booking.

   Honestly, paying a bit more beats having your hair turned orange over and over. I would just call and ask for a quick consult.

   Seconding the consult. Definitely bring pictures of the exact lived-in look and tone you want so there is no confusion.

   Update: I called and they actually had a cancellation today! Zero orange and the blend is perfect. I almost cried in the chair, thank you all so much.
