  I have had a good experience with Dr. Matthew Hill on Bee Caves Road. He actually sat down, listened through the whole explanation, and asked follow-up questions instead of steering me toward the door after five minutes. When I did not understand something, he explained it again without making me feel difficult.

  The Coolest is right down the street on E St Elmo Rd. We used them for an AC issue last summer. They showed up inside the window they gave us, the technician was patient while I asked a million questions, and he explained what he was checking before doing anything. No disappearing act after the appointment either.

  I had a good experience at Theory Hair Salon in Techridge. I brought reference photos and the colorist actually slowed down and talked through what would work with my hair instead of just nodding and mixing color. She checked in with me during the appointment, and I left with dimensional color instead of another solid brassy stripe.

  Good Guys Tree Service took down a dead cedar and thinned two live oaks for us. They cleaned up better than I expected, barely a leaf left in the driveway.

  Good Guys Tree Service has certified arborists on staff, which is what I would look for with a large oak over the house. Ask them how they would approach that limb before anyone cuts.

  Art Alliance Austin is bringing Fiesta Austin back to the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center, 600 River Street. Saturday September 26 and Sunday September 27, both days noon to 5:00 PM. It is billed as Austin's longest running arts festival, all ages and free flowing block party style. Outdoor arts market with 30 to 40 makers, interactive installations, and street food. • Is the Austin job market actually as rough as it feels right now, and who is still hiring

  Tech guys complaining while I cant even find a reliable prep cook for my rig on East 6th. Service industry is still desperate for people who actually show up on time. I had two line cooks walk off during Saturday night rush last week. If you need money and can handle standard kitchen heat, restaurants are always hiring BOH.
