Not easy to post this but here goes. Looking for a therapist in Austin who does EMDR. Have tried talk therapy a couple of times and it has not really moved the needle. Near central Austin would be ideal.

EMDR made a huge difference for me when standard talk therapy hit a wall. Meagan Read is right near campus and is specifically certified in EMDR for trauma.

Amanda Kerley also works with trauma, but her site noted a waitlist when these recommendations were gathered. Worth checking for an update before planning around an opening.

I had a good first conversation with Amanda Kerley about EMDR. She was patient while I tried to explain what I was looking for and did not make the call feel like an intake assembly line. Even the way she answered my questions made it easier to ask the next one, which matters a lot with this kind of appointment.

That is really good to know about the waitlist and specialties. Finding someone specifically certified in EMDR saves a lot of time.

Appreciate all the heads-up on this, it saved me a ton of digging. I went ahead and reached out through Meagan Read's site https://www.meaganreadtherapy.com/ to check her availability.
