  We went to MJ White CPA on Spicewood Springs after getting behind and dreading the whole conversation. He was patient, did not make us feel stupid, and explained what he needed from us in plain language. The follow-up was organized too, which mattered because I am terrible about keeping tax paperwork straight.

  Strand Brothers came out for us on a 104 degree afternoon. Called ahead with an arrival window, tech was on time, and he showed me the part that failed instead of just handing me a bill.

  Dealers always quote replacing the whole assembly when it might just be a minor issue. Definitely get a second opinion from a local shop.

  Bought an older place and the panel is maxed out. We want an EV charger eventually and the inspector flagged the panel anyway. Looking for someone who does panel upgrades and will not ghost me after the quote.

Even the way she answered my questions made it easier to ask the next one, which matters a lot with this kind of appointment.

• Looking for a reliable lawn care service in Hutto

  We use 2 Nick's Lawn Mowing and they have been great. Father and son team, family owned, based right in Hutto. They do the routine mowing and edging plus general landscaping. Price was very fair compared to what we were quoted before. DH stopped complaining about it, which is the highest praise available in this house.

  Oh no, poor chicken! Did anyone try to catch it? We had a stray goat near our soccer fields last season and DH had to help the coach herd it away from the pitch! DD8 was talking about it for a week. Also, does anyone know if the construction on 183 north is going to clear up before Saturday morning games?

  Wait what is the code scam? Someone tried doing something strange on FB Marketplace last week when I was selling my DD's old soccer cleats! Is DH supposed to meet people in store parking lots instead? Also I have a double stroller for sale if anyone in Pf needs one for the park!
