   Came home to a puddle around the water heater in the garage. Shut the water off at the valve but I have two kids and no hot water. Who is fast and not going to rip me off?

   We called Daniel’s Plumbing about our water heater. The person on the phone asked enough questions to understand what was happening instead of immediately pushing an appointment, and the technician kept us updated before arriving. Once there, he explained the choices patiently and gave us time to decide without hovering.

   Good calls all around. While they are here, is it worth having them check the other connections and the shutoff valve too, or just fix the heater and be done?

   Whatever company you call, ask if they give upfront pricing before starting. Emergency visits can get expensive fast.

   Good that you shut the water off. I would leave the diagnosis to whoever inspects the heater instead of assuming the whole tank needs replacing.

   Radiant got back to me today and I have a visit arranged. Still waiting to hear what is wrong with it, but at least I am not guessing anymore. Thanks.

   Radiant handled our water heater mess in August. They quoted over the phone, honored it when they got here, and the plumber put shoe covers on without me asking. Follow up call a week later too.
