- Need a roofer who will actually show up, hail damage on our shingles
Thanks everybody. Called L & J this morning and they are coming out Thursday to look at the hail damage. Appreciate the quick responses.

- Water heater is leaking and I need a plumber today, who is good
Good that you shut the water off. I would leave the diagnosis to whoever inspects the heater instead of assuming the whole tank needs replacing.

- CPA for a rental property and a couple years of late returns
I was in the exact same spot a couple years ago. Once you hand everything over, it is such a relief to have a plan in place.

- Need a roofer who will actually show up, hail damage on our shingles
Last storm knocked a bunch of granules loose and we have a couple of spots that look lifted near the ridge. Insurance adjuster is coming next week and I want a real local roofer to look first, not one of the door knockers who show up in a truck with out of state plates. Who have you used for repair or a full replacement?

- F1 United States Grand Prix at COTA, Oct 22 to 25
Worth comparing grandstand packages on the official pages before buying resale. The layout matters more than the price at COTA.

- Looking for a handyman for a long list of small stuff
Mr. Handyman of South Austin/Lakeway took care of a similar list for us. The person who came out arrived on time, went through the whole list with me first, and was honest about what could fit into the visit. He was careful around the furniture and cleaned up the little piles of hardware and dust before he left.

- AC died in the middle of the afternoon, need an HVAC company in South Austin
Make sure to keep your blinds closed and turn on ceiling fans while you wait. That south Austin afternoon sun is brutal.

- F1 United States Grand Prix at COTA, Oct 22 to 25
The United States Grand Prix is back at Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Boulevard, October 22 to 25. Thursday opens with fan activities and the Grand Prix itself runs Sunday afternoon, with practice and qualifying in between. Support races include the Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Masters Endurance Legends, and there are headlining concerts on the music stages inside the infield. Do these sell out fast when the single tickets drop?

- Therapist recommendations for trauma, specifically EMDR
EMDR made a huge difference for me when standard talk therapy hit a wall. Meagan Read is right near campus and is specifically certified in EMDR for trauma.

- Young Thug and The New Generation Tour hits Moody Sept 30
The collaborative lineup angle is the interesting part. You usually get a few names off that kind of bill that are headlining on their own a year later.

- Amazon robotics plant going into the Dog's Head area of East Austin
300 to 500 jobs is great news for that side of town!! Manufacturing and engineering both, which is a nice mix. Hoping they hire locally instead of relocating everyone in. Jen

- Looking for a reliable lawn care service in Hutto
Another vote for 2 Nick's!! They keep a 5 star rating and from what I have seen it is deserved. Reliable and genuinely nice to deal with. Jen

- What is the most Austin thing you saw this week
We had a customer come through my lane at the Mueller store on Wednesday wearing a full grackle costume! Feathers, beak mask, everything! He bought three bags of tortilla chips and a tub of fresh guacamole. It made our whole night shift smile! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and finds great deals in our deli department! -Jen :)

- Is the Austin job market actually as rough as it feels right now, and who is still hiring
Just jumping back in to echo that there are many different paths forward! It can definitely feel stressful when transition periods happen, but Austin has so many supportive communities. Don't forget that grocery, retail, and local small businesses offer great stability while you figure out your next chapter :) Keep your chin up! Warmly, Jen
