Anyone have an electrician they trust for a panel upgrade?

Bought an older place and the panel is maxed out. We want an EV charger eventually and the inspector flagged the panel anyway. Looking for someone who does panel upgrades and will not ghost me after the quote.

We used AC Electric after buying our place in southwest Austin. They gave us a straight quote, showed up when promised, and walked me through what needed attention versus what could wait. I appreciated that nobody tried to turn every old wire in the house into an emergency. They also cleaned up before leaving.

A-One Electric is another solid option down south, run by Karen Phaup. She handled our service upgrade and code corrections after our home inspection.

Did either of them handle the city permits for you, or did you have to file those yourself?

I cannot speak to who handles the permit on your job. Get that in writing with the quote, along with whether the EV charger is part of this visit or a later one.

I got those review emails too, but it takes two seconds to unsubscribe. Main thing is the work was done right.

If you are up north instead, Dial One Electrical handles residential upgrades as well. You can check out https://dialoneelectrical.com/ to get in touch with them.

Dial One Electrical did our panel last spring. Tech showed up when they said, put drop cloths down from the garage to the hallway, and explained what he was swapping before he touched anything. Zero mess when he left.

See you at the Red Bud Isle launch!
