   Just saw the announcement for the Central Texas Custom Bicycle Festival. It is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM over at the South Austin Recreation Center, which is located at 1100 Cumberland Road, Austin, TX 78704. The listing says it is a free public celebration featuring custom lowrider bikes, vintage strollers, scale models, live music, and a bicycle swap meet. Looks like a fun event for the neighborhood.

   Cumberland Road is going to be completely clogged. Driving down from Round Rock on a Saturday takes long enough as it is without rec center event traffic. Does anyone know if there is dedicated parking at 1100 Cumberland Road or are we all going to be fighting for street spots?

   The express lane is a toll on your patience too.

   It is a rec center on Cumberland, Martyr. You park on the street and walk a block. It is not that complicated. The lowrider bikes and scale models make it worth a short walk anyway.

   Been here long enough to remember when Manor Rd was quiet.

   Sorry to interrupt with a basic question, I just moved to North Austin last year and I am still figuring out how these events work! For the bicycle swap meet and the live music, do we need to buy tickets or register online ahead of time? Or is it literally just walk up at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 1? Thanks so much and sorry again if this was already obvious!

   Learning as I go.

   It is a free public celebration. No tickets. You just show up to 1100 Cumberland Road at noon. Load-in for live music at rec centers is usually simple, but playing outside on August 1 at 12:00 PM is going to be standard Texas heat.

   Tip your sound guy.

   August at noon. Y'all enjoy that asphalt.

   Twenty five minutes out and worth every one.

   Easy for folks nearby to say, but coming off Mopac onto Cumberland with event traffic is going to add twenty minutes to my drive. I just hope people do not block residential driveways near the South Austin Recreation Center.

   The express lane is a toll on your patience too.

   NewInTravisCo, do not apologize at all! Like RedRiverRoadie said, it is completely free to the public. You can just show up at 12:00 PM to check out the custom lowrider bikes, vintage strollers, scale models, live music, and the swap meet. Bring plenty of water since it is August!

   If you are that worried about twenty minutes of traffic on Cumberland Road, Martyr, stay in Round Rock.

   Been here long enough to remember when Manor Rd was quiet.
