   Just saw a posting for MODERN: A 2-Day Vietnamese American Festival coming up later this summer. It starts on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Asian American Resource Center, which is located at 8401 Cameron Road, Austin, TX 78754. The event details say it is a two day festival highlighting Vietnamese American culture through live music performances, fashion shows, and community exhibits. Anyone else planning to check this out?

   Cameron Road right off 183 on a Friday at 6:00 PM sounds like a traffic nightmare. My commute down from Round Rock is already brutal on Friday afternoons. If I leave work at 5:00 PM I might barely make the 6:00 PM start time. Does anyone know how parking at the Asian American Resource Center handles a big two day crowd?

   The express lane is a toll on your patience too.

   Sorry to ask a basic question, I moved to North Austin last year and I am still learning where everything is. Is the Asian American Resource Center mostly an indoor facility or outdoor venue? Also, does the announcement mention if the fashion shows and live music performances are happening both days or just starting on Friday? Thank you in advance!

   The announcement just lists live music performances, fashion shows, and community exhibits for the two day festival starting Friday, August 7 at 6:00 PM. They have not posted specific set times or daily schedules yet. As far as the facility goes, AARC has solid indoor spaces for exhibits and outdoor grounds. Stage load-in for a Friday 6:00 PM start is going to be tight for the sound crews, so hopefully production gets in early.

   I am definitely interested in the cultural exhibits and live music, but I notice the listing does not mention any food details yet. You cannot have a two day Vietnamese American festival without incredible food. I am really hoping they bring in some good local vendors or pop-ups for this.

   That area near 8401 Cameron Road used to be mostly empty lots and auto shops decades ago. Good to see AARC hosting a two day event highlighting Vietnamese culture. Just leave early if you are driving over on Friday evening, because that corridor gets backed up fast.

   Been here long enough to remember when Manor Rd was quiet.

   That is exactly what I am worried about. Getting across 183 to Cameron Road at 6:00 PM on a Friday is going to test everyone's patience. If you are coming from up north like me, give yourself at least double the normal drive time.

   If you want to avoid the worst of the 183 logjam, you can cut across using Berkman Drive through Mueller and come up Cameron Road from the south. The Asian American Resource Center is a great location for this kind of community festival. Looking forward to seeing the fashion shows and live music on August 7th!
