   Saw a guy riding a unicycle down South Congress yesterday morning while successfully eating a migas taco from a foil wrapper without dropping a single tortilla chip. Absolutely top tier coordination! It got me thinking about all the random stuff you only see in this town. What is the most Austin thing you all have run into this week?

   That reminds me of seeing people on OneWheels in Campbell back in South Bay. Yesterday at The Domain I saw someone walking two blue heelers while listening to a podcast on giant retro headphones. Is that pretty common around here? EDIT: Not sure why this is getting downvoted, I was just asking a genuine question about neighborhood vibes.

   Dear BayAreaToATX, I believe you meant to write that you saw someone walking two dogs while he or she was listening to a podcast. It is always helpful to keep our pronoun references clear for the group. On Tuesday afternoon, I observed a young man attempting to haul an entire velvet sofa down Duval Street on the back of a non-motorized cargo bicycle. It was quite a spectacle, though I was concerned for his safety. Warm regards.

   Saw a coyote trotting down William Cannon near Oak Hill... carried a whole yard chicken in its mouth... broad daylight too... guess the critters don't care about city limits anymore... reminds me of hunting public WMA land out west...

   Oh no, poor chicken! Did anyone try to catch it? We had a stray goat near our soccer fields last season and DH had to help the coach herd it away from the pitch! DD8 was talking about it for a week. Also, does anyone know if the construction on 183 north is going to clear up before Saturday morning games?

   Soccer mom taxi service running 24/7.

   We had a customer come through my lane at the Mueller store on Wednesday wearing a full grackle costume! Feathers, beak mask, everything! He bought three bags of tortilla chips and a tub of fresh guacamole. It made our whole night shift smile! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and finds great deals in our deli department! -Jen :)

   Spotted an original 1976 Marantz 2270 receiver sitting on a curbside free table in Allandale / mint walnut cabinet / 70 watts per channel / original faceplate intact. Owner said he upgraded to a soundbar. I loaded it into my trunk before he could change his mind.

   Vinyl sounds better. Always looking for Marantz gear!

   Dan, finding a vintage Marantz on the curb is the ultimate local jackpot! My current top taco spot ranking would completely fall apart if I found gear like that sitting outside. Jen, the grackle costume guy deserves a key to the city! That is incredible.

   I still don't understand the obsession with grackles here. In San Jose we just had crows and nobody made costumes out of them. Is there a local historical reason for it or is it just an inside joke?

    The grackle has simply become an affectionate unofficial mascot for our city over the decades due to their sheer numbers around grocery store parking lots. It requires no deep historical analysis, dear. Warm regards.
